Yes, I realize that handling each User ID for people
with multiple marriages would mean the need for
multiple User ID's for one person. There's too many
things going on here today for me to think logically.

I was trying to come up with a static Marriage ID for
organizing my genealogy, but I really don't want to
use a number that could be re-assigned. I'll have to
come up with something else.

The Marriage Information window has a field called
User ID ... is that supposed to be for Marriage ID?

Also, on the Family window, there is a bar under the
couples' names that has the marriage info ... I see
that fields cannot be added to be visible on that
bar, like the Marriage ID. I could make a static
Marriage ID for filing (of my own creation), and then
not worry about how the RINs and MRINs are
reassigned. There would not be a relationship between
the RINs and MRINs and the Marriage ID I would
arbitrarily assign to couples and their families.

Laura,

Put the MRIN in the Marriage Information window and
the RIN in the
Individual's Information window.

Thanks for using Legacy.

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] MRINs and RINs

I understand ... the search on Legacy says that I
have 260 people with
multiple marriages.

My thought is that each marriage is unique, and I
have some men and some
women that had multiple children by 3 or 4 marriages.
I think each one
should be handled uniquely, and each User ID would
have MRIN-RIN. Each
marriage is a family group.

Is that your questions is asking?
