Hi Alice, I got three responses. Yours was the closest to what I am looking for but not exactly. I am aware that "of" means at some point they were there. For instance, we may not know a person was born in a particular place, but we know they were from that area. If I put it in as ", Of Cherokee, Iowa", shows up on the County Verifier as not a valid place. Possibly the best thing to do would be to change it to be "of, [county name], state" or "of , ,[county name], state" to indicate that I do not know the town. Then it would no longer be listed as an problem in the County Verifier. What do you think?
Regarding my second question. I believe my mother's intention when putting Cherokee?, Iowa in the location, was that she thought they may have been there, but wasn't sure. This is the case with several county names (and towns), not just Cherokee. I used Cherokee as an example. So if you think someone is from a certain place, but not sure, how is the best way to indicate that in the location box, so it does not come up as a problem in the County Verifier. Or is there a better way to indicate you are not sure? Thank you for your thoughts and assistance.
