How to record census data in Legacy is on-topic for this list. Finding the data itself isn't.

Try joining a Rootsweb list (http://lists.rootsweb.com/) for a state or country where you might expect to find your people listed in census data, and ask there. Finding the answer for one state might also tell you the answer for other states - if not, find another list that covers another area of interest to you. There are also lists at Rootsweb that deal only with censuses, so try searching for those as well.

As for Google, try searching on "census data" (without the quotes) for a start, and perhaps include a state of interest to you, and see what you get. I'm sure you'd find something of interest with that search.
