I have lots of bits of paper about the ROSSITER family in general and I

up a file in some other program such as Windows My Docs John
You can, if you wish, add them to your main Family File as unrelated
individuals (possibly related to each other, but not to your main
family). If you later discover they are related, you can link them in
to your family or if you find they are of no interest, they can be
deleted.
I have a few people like this in my file - I like to know I have them
recorded and everything in the same place/format as everyone else - but
I know some people don't like to add "odd" people like this.
If you look at View, Tree Finder you will see how many separate "trees"
(some of which might comprise only one individual) your file contains.
