Hi JL

You can add *another* sibling or *another* spouse that way but you can't add a first one or a parent or an unlinked individual unless you add as something else and then unlink - and make sure you do and you're not distracted or you'll end up with endless loops etc - and then relink in appropriate space.

I suspect with a one name study, many people are not extra siblings or spouses. So it is much easier to come out of the Name list and enter them in the usual way rather than jump through hoops.

Maybe this got missed but I don't think it did. Valerie, you can toggle back and forth between the Family tab and the Sources tab in the Name List. You do not need to leave the Name List to add individuals. Just go the Family tab, click on some-one in that family's list, other than "par" and click Siblings List, Child List or Spouse List below and use the box that comes up to add a brother, sister or spouse as appropriate.

Valerie,
Try this to keep your place in the name list.
Do 'your thing' in the name list, with your list in order of surname or RIN as you normal procedure. When you find you need to add another name, select that person from the name list you were looking at. That selection brings your individual to the family view. From there, select Add from the top tool bar & add your new individual. When finished you'll find yourself in the Family view with the new individual on the screen. Now, click on the large Back arrow to return to the previous family view screen. Now, select your Name List again & you are right back on the Name List exactly where you want to be. Minimal human memory required.

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Name list query

I am trying to check my sources and in the process am finding some people are missing and I have to leave where I am, go out and the into add and then back to where I was. With my poor memory I am becoming quite lost.

 Why didn't I start this when I was 7 ???

Regards from Valerie in sunny Sydney.
