Just to clarify.
You CAN do away with the default sentences altogether for a particular
event, if you wish to write up your own narrative each time.
For many of my events, I've deleted the default sentence structures for all
combinations and replaced with [notes][sources] Then I write what I want to
read for that persons' event. This keeps many of the events from reading so
woodenly.
The nice thing about Legacy is it does allow customization.

Is there a way to eliminate Legacy's sentence structure for events. I
would like to use my own wording in the description without Legacy adding
words.
You can't do away with Legacy's sentences altogether, but you can do the
next best thing.
If you are using all the fields, change the sentence structure for each
Event to something like "[EventName] [Desc] [Date] [Place][Sources]". You
can change the order, include punctuation or omit fields as appropriate.
If you only use Event Name and then put all the information about the Event
in Notes, then use the "If Desc, Date and Place are empty" field and enter
"[EventName][Notes][Sources]". (Without the quotation marks, of course.)
It will take a little while to set up the sentences if you use a lot of
Event Names, but once it is done your Events will be in exactly the format
you want.
