Ok...a few more issues. First, thanks for those who commented on the
others. Here's more detail.
1) The relationship calculator takes a long time before it displays (about 2
minutes) and then it defaults the highlighted person into the right side
instead of the left side where it used to be in version 6 and before. The
person that was used to set relationships is defaulted into the left side
and presumably the previously computed relationships are shown to the
highlighted person. The calculate relationships button seems to "refresh"
those calculations and is extremely slow. Version 6 could re-compute and
report on the relationships in a few seconds. Version 7 takes more than 20
minutes to do the calculations. Therefore, in version 7 you first have to
wait several minutes for the unwanted relationships to be shown, then you
can enter the desired two people and wait another 20 minutes for their
relationships to be shown. This makes it very difficult to use the tool in
version 7. The speed problem is probably why new people added to the file
do not automatically get their relationship computed since data entry could
not be delayed for long periods between each new individual. Perhaps the
programmers could make it possible to select the old (faster) calculator
until the new one is fixed. As it is now, this is perhaps the worst bug in
version 7 and the results are still not correct.
2) The option to set Word for Blank Records to "(Just leave it blank)" did
not work initially after coversion to version 7. After setting it to
"Unknown" and saving that setting and then changing it to "Just leave it
blank" and saving settings again...it now works correctly in family view.
The word "Unknown" is still showing in the Marr List on marriages where
there is only one spouse record. A non-blank record in the database has a
RIN. A blank record does not have a RIN. There may be other places where
this option needs to apply so that the work Unknown only shows when the
appropiate option has been selected and saved.
3) The "set clipboard" saved items were not carried forward from those
saved in version 6. They do work but must be re-entered and saved
again...then the right click on the triangle works as it did in version 6.
Why were they not carried forward from version 6?
