Let's just leave things as they are. Changing the sysyem won't change the habits of some of the users. ----- Original Message ----- From: marilyn E B To: LegacyUserGroup@legacyfamilytree.com Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2008 5:40 AM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Email list for legacy solutions only?
Also, if you use gmail your messages are threaded by subject. You can also get snippets of the subject. Gmail is free and has an amazing amount of storage to save messages, records or whatever. You can choose to get the postings in 3 different ways: - individual emails (just as the current list) - daily digest (something that has been requested) - web only (with the option of getting forum admin emails, such as "will be down for maintenance") In the online forum, the messages are threaded by topic. The downsides are the ads that are displayed when reading online (but that's the price of a free forum) and not having notification of replies to a message. (I don't know how good/bad the email options are, as I have never used them.)
