It's an honor to be back on this list. I've been unsubscribed for several months for various reasons. I'm getting caught up again and hope to be able to participate more....

Hi Geoff, It is an honor to "meet" you after watching so many of your videos! Thanks for the information and correcting my misunderstanding. I like the idea of marking it as private -- I've not done that before. Thanks, Brian -----Original Message----- From: k...@legacyfamilytree.com [mailto:k...@legacyfamilytree.com] On Behalf Of Geoff Rasmussen Sent: Thursday, April 02, 2009 3:15 PM To: LegacyUserGroup@legacyfamilytree.com Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Disproven Birth? Hi Brian, I actually change the "Alt Birth" event to "Disproven Birth". I don't add a new one. Then in that event's notes, I explain why I'm disproving it. For me, it's important to keep the Disproven Birth event in case I need it for research comparisons in the future. I also keep it in case other researchers claim their birth information is correct. If I retain the Disproven Birth information in my event/fact list, I can easily respond to them. Finally, I will often mark the Disproven Birth event as private, so in my polished reports, this event doesn't "get in the way". Hi, In the Legacy Training video "Researching with Legacy: Events and Chronologies" Geoff Rasmussen gives an example of a person having conflicting birth information. So, he creates an event titled "Alt Birth". This I understand and can do. However he goes on to say that afterwards if one resolves the conflict that one should enter a new event called "Disproven birth". I cannot find this in the Events list. How do others handle it when a conflict, such as a birth year, is resolved? Should I create a custom event called "Disproven birth"?
