Erica,

Your problem is being caused because you are opening a .fdb file that is
in a zipped file. That .fdb file is in a compacted form that Legacy
cannot use. In order to make the file usable Windows extracts the full,
uncompacted, file into the Windows\temporary files folder and it is that
file the you are modifying as you work with Legacy.

Here is how you should be opening your file:
1. Open Legacy and when you are asked what file to open look for a .fdb
file that is NOT in a zipped file folder.
2. If you cannot find a .fdb file in a normal folder then do not open
any file.
3. Go to File, Restore Family File
4. Select your latest backup (.zip) file and click Open
5. When asked where to save the file open the C:\Legacy\Data folder and
save the file there.
6. Now when you open the file always open the .fdb file in
C:\Legacy\Data folder and NEVER open a file that is listed inside a .zip
folder.
