Dennis,
I know the process by which a Database is updated, I was really commenting on Dropbox messages (at least I assume they are from Dropbox, but maybe from the o/s) which could easily lead to a misunderstanding. Your observations should, however, convince the doubters! Ron Ferguson http://www.fergys.co.uk/ -----Original Message----- From: Dennis M. I actually watched the Dropbox icon on the status bar (XP) immediately after deleting an individual. The icon changes and if you hover over it it says it is uploading. I paused for a minute and let it sync. When the icon stopped uploading I shut Legacy down and Dropbox did not do any further syncing with the .fdb. However it did sync the .ldb lock file (removed it). Remember that a database is a little different than say a Word file. The database is constantly getting changed while a Word file may not actually get written to disk until the very end (i.e. you close Word). Dropbox works by detecting a file write and sending the updated portion of the file to the cloud. It only sends the changed part of a file ... not the whole file. -- Dennis Kowallek (LTools/Custom Programming) http://zippersoftware.com/ltools/index.htm http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ltools NOTE TO LUG USERS: Use plain text if you want me to read your post.
