That's nothing to do with entering notes in Legacy.  It refers to which
program will open when you want to access an attached word processor
document file.

When you attach a picture (to an Event or Source, for example) Legacy
has an internal viewer which allows you to see the picture and gives you
limited editing ability.  If you attach a document file you cannot view
it within Legacy but must use a suitable external program.  For example,
if you attach a PDF when you double-click on its icon it will probably
open in Adobe Acrobat.  If you have attached a DOC file it will open in
Microsoft Word if that is your default Word Processor.  If Word is your
default but you want Legacy to open a different WP program, you enter
the path to that program under Alternate Word Processor.
