Yes you can make room for a new person in an existing chart and add them.
You don't have to start from scratch.
However, if you have lots of people to add, then that's a different
matter and it may be easier to start from scratch - or at least start
that branch/family group again.
Legacy TreeDraw updates text that has already been entered on the
chart automatically. However it does not add new people OR new facts
- eg a death date - if there wasn't something already entered for the
death when you made the chart.
TreeDraw isn't the easiest program to learn to use. You need to get a
thorough understanding of grouping and ungrouping if you are going to
move anything around. You need to make sure things are grouped
properly so that you don't leave the connecting lines etc behind.

Hi Graham:
I don't use TreeDraw, but...
Won't TreeDraw let you make room for the new person (by dragging boxes
around)? Then can't you import just the new person and connect them manually
where they belong?
Just asking because I am considering the product.
