I run Windows in dutch version, so I donot know exactly the english words used in your windows. But let me try. Go to the configurationwindow of windows (Start-Settings?). Then click the System icon. You get a window with four tabs (at least in my w98 version) Under the most right tab there appears a window with three buttons: One of them reads something like Swap memory. Clicking that button allows you to change the settings. In my PC the setting was: Leave the use of memory to Windows. I have changed that to the other radiobutton, so enable the user controls the settings. I set the min amount to 2 Gb, the max to the max available space on the hard disk. (16Gb). Till now everything works ok. I get open Word besides Legacy and use several other programs at the same time.
If this is not clear enough, perhaps there is a Lugger who can explain the settings of a Swap-file better than I. I think that in the Windows help there must be an entry for Swap-file or something like that.
