LUG subscribers,

Before you convert your Legacy 5 family file to the Legacy 6 format I
recommend:

1. Run a Potential Problems Report and correct serious data and relationship
errors in your records.
2. Run File Maintenance > Check/Repair. If you get error messages while
proceeding with Check/Repair, click NO in the error message box to continue.
3. Do the Check/Repair a second time just for good measure.
4. Backup your family file.

IMHO doing a regular Potential Problems Report and frequent Check/Repair is
like scheduled maintenance for your car. You don't wait for the red engine
light to come on and then decide you need to check your oil or service your
car.

Thanks,

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] V5 upgrade

Shirley,

While my experience may not be typical, moving to the latest build of V5
Deluxe, which includes upgrading my database, rendered Legacy unusable to
me, and the SNAFU helped me to corrupt some of the peoples' relationships in
the process...
