Pete, Yes, census data is always a "popular" topic here on the list. Be patient with yourself. I've tried a couple different ways, so I have data I will need to re-enter. Can't avoid it, unless you happen on the "perfect" way (for you) on the first try! Another point to consider: do you have several different families that resided in the same county at the same time? If so, how do you want to see their data reported? All under one master source? or by head-of-household? That's *IF* you're entering the detail on the Source record (not in the Individuals' Events). Sometimes it's fun to see that the two families of a couple lived 4 houses apart on the same street, etc. Best of luck! --Paula
Whew! Great response to my questions. In a way it's good to see that there were several different solutions, because it means I wasn't being stupid about something obvious! From the answers I think my problem is that I don't really know what I want to (or even can) do with the information at the end of the day, and I need to know that before I can work out the best way to structure it. So I think I'll have to go with the suggestion of several people, which was essentially suck it and see :-) Thanks for all the suggestions, it's much appreciated. Pete C.
