Ros,

Understand your problem with the abbreviation "SA".

Can I suggest in future if you have a query on an abbreviated location, select

"Help>Type in 'Abbreviations'>then select "Common Abbreviations'"

then look for the abbreviation you require.

The abbreviations adhere to a world standard which is known as the Chapman Code and is used in genealogy research. Apart from that, each country falls into line with a standard for postal reasons. For example in Australia - QLD represents Queensland, in U.S.A. - KS is Kansas, in England SSX is Sussex.

Hope this helps

Noel

Pleeeeeease put in 'USA'. I am in the UK and am English, and would not have the first clue what 'WV' stood for. Somebody very kindly sent me a GEDCOM where most of the events happened in 'SA'. It has taken me many months to work out that this was 'South Australia'.
