My pictures are mostly 800x600 pixels or smaller and range in size
from around 80kB to 300kB with most around 100-150.
I just thought it might be a memory issue. Is it happening after a
restart of your computer with nothing else open? Sorry I can't think
of anything else.

Yes, it's happened to every picture attached to different individuals so
far. They're fairly small (200kb). How large are your pictures?
