As I said, I just opened a file from C:\Legacy\Data. Then I immediately
tried a backup and was offered C:\Legacy\Data\Backup.

I wonder if this isn't a case of .usr file corruption. Shut down Legacy
and try deleting your .usr files (after backing them up). Then restart
Legacy and see what happens. If there is no difference, you can restore
your .usr files.
