Same subject, but a different problem.... I too installed Legacy 6 from the CD - no problem there. I went to check for new updates and found the CD version was several versions behind. So I clicked to download and update to get current.
I'm sure I'm not the only user still on a dial-up modem and has this same problem. Under the BEST of circumstances (and that seldom happens) I manage only a 40 bps connection and usually it's MUCH less connect than that. It took me almost 3 1/2 HOURS to get the download completed and installed. PLUS I can't leave my system unattended too long as my ISP provider is like as not to disconnect me due to "perceived inactivity". So I stick around to move the mouse once in awhile to let them know I'm "doing something"! Isn't there a better delivery method for updates for those in my situation? Can't we receive updates via a CD or download just what's changed. Given this experience I really don't have any plans on upgrading to any new builds anytime soon......... gc Legacy User Group guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
