Yes I noticed that this morning and wondered the same thing. My cousin is in
that category as he has children by his long time partner.

With the frequency and acceptability of non marriage relationships that
happen now that produce children it is something that needs addressing. It
also occurs to me that multiple children by the same mother (& even mother
if Dad has custody) could have a different father (mother) for each child.
Additionally now that same sex marriages are being legally recognised does
Legacy accept spouses of the same gender - whether or not they have/adopt
children?
