I have the same challenge with the numerous Dutch surnames in my tree -
wife's side (such as de MELKER, de JONG, van de MELKER, van der MELKER etc).
I also have a few Mc's in the Canadian leg of my tree,

I'm not a great typist (can't copy type) so I've set surnames to be
converted to uppercase as I prefer to type as little as possible of a
mixture of UC & lc (UPPER CASE  lower case).

I use standard V6.0.83
