I have the same challenge with the numerous Dutch surnames in my tree - wife's side (such as de MELKER, de JONG, van de MELKER, van der MELKER etc). I also have a few Mc's in the Canadian leg of my tree,
I'm not a great typist (can't copy type) so I've set surnames to be converted to uppercase as I prefer to type as little as possible of a mixture of UC & lc (UPPER CASE lower case). I use standard V6.0.83 Peter Holmes Western Australia [HOLMES (Witham on the Hill, Pinchbeck, Donington and then Leicestershire), DAVISON (Donington), CRAGG (Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire), RYLOTT & WITHERINGTON (Gosberton, Gosberton Clough)] [Villages are in Lincolnshire] > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, 27 March 2006 07:16 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [LegacyUG] Capitalization, Irish and Italian Surnames > > Alejandro DeSimone, son of Italian immigrants, married > Bridget McAllister, of Irish extraction.
