Hi David,
Legacy CAN tag people in order to do this - BUT - if there are
linkages between the lines, you drag in lines you didn't want -
unless you can identify them all and unlink them.
You can try tagging the Entire Ancestor line of your father.
Example: One of my maternal cousins married a distant relation of
someone who married into my father's line. My niece married into the
same line. That means that I can't pull out my father's line using
this method without pulling in my mother's line as well. I think
there are other linkages as well that I haven't identified. Because
there were many social links as well as relationships, I have a lot
of my great nephews and nieces ancestors in my tree. I'm sure I'm not
alone in doing this.
Because of this problem I always tag descendants from all the
relevant most distant ancestors. So long as you are systematic, using
the Pedigree View from top to bottom, you shouldn't miss anybody.

Thanks Dennis,
I may give this a try. I was hoping though that Legacy could tag
people in order to do this.
