Would you expect to use, say,   3 Feb. 1750 and 3 Feby 1750  and Febr.
3 1750 and 3rd Feb. 1750/51, etc.?
The program sees one date format as "correct" and the others as
incorrect. So we must use a standard format. You can add a note to
explain the original version.
