Legacy stores dates in two places. An integer column for sorting
(YYYYMMDD) *and* a text column for the data the user enters (I won't go
into the rules of how each is populated). Legacy does not use the built
in MS Access "Date" data type.

I really don't have a problem with Melanie's requested enhancement if
implemented as an option that can be turned on and off. I don't think I
would turn it on, but I wouldn't wish to deny others the capability.

However, I'd prefer bugs be fixed first.
