Without more knowledge, there is no way anyone can help you.

1. Please provide a real error message. I'm quite certain it doesn't
say "you don't have decoders installed".

2. What backend is Totem using (xine or gstreamer)?

3. What dependency packages (related to the the video/audio you wish
to play) were installed before you installed xine/gstreamer?

4. What type of file were you trying to play when you received error
messages ("some files" is simply too vague)?

As far as the error with libmpeg2, it must a be a 64 bit thing. Perhaps
someone can provide a fix for you.
