I was able to find an Intel iMac here at my University. It worked all
excellent. Thanks for your effort.
I also tried compiling via configure/autoconf/automake/libtool and it
also worked perfectly. I therefore suggest not to include the xcode
projects in the official distribution (at least for 1.3.x).
