This is one of the Top Ten Libertarian Myths, and one that causes no
end of wasted time and effort on the part of libertarians.
People generally are just as desirous of Liberty - FOR THEMSELVES - as
libertarians.  Try to keep that in mind.  You're wasting your time
when you try to paint for them the glories of Freedom; they are
already perfectly aware and in agreement.  The Monarch loves Liberty -
for himself.  So do the Democrat and the Fascist and the Looter.
In a democratic society like ours, one of the Freedoms the Vast
Majority love is the Freedom to tell their neighbors how to live their
lives.  You will never persuade them to give that up.
No, everyone loves Liberty.  It is only the libertarian, though, who
is willing to extend that liberty to others - THAT, not thelove of
Freedom, is the defining character of the libertarian.
