Ron Paul has as much chance of winning the Republican nomination as I do. I

Ostrowski, who was going to be the LP gubernatorial nominee in New York in 1994
until he got derailed by Howard Stern.

Ostrowski's analysis is amusing, I suppose, but rather out of touch with
reality. I'm not sure why he's so dismissive of Giuliani or Gingrich as GOP
nominees. He doesn't explain; he just says "Call Dr. Laura" to dismiss those
two as he writes the usual "stuff" about McCain being the presumptive nominee
before Paul. McCain has virtually no chance of getting the GOP nod; he's being
pushed by the "mainstream" left-wing media because I guess he's the kind of
Republican they like, precisely why he can't win the primary.

As for Ron Paul, being anti-war is not a plus with the GOP faithful, especially
with those who vote in primaries. Paul's hostility towards Israel will also
hurt him in the Southern primaries, where support for Israel is stronger than
among the Jewish community in New York. (That may be more a comment on how the
Jewish community has changed, but it's true.) Paul also has no money, no name
recognition, and being pro-drug legalization will probably not help him win
many primaries either. If Paul actually runs, he might win a delegate or two in
some states with rules making that easier, but I'd say Arnold Schwarzenegger
has more of a chance and he isn't eligible.

FWIW, the GOP usually goes with the frontrunner, and as of now, that is
Giuliani.
