I've checked it out and I'm pretty sure that the screen is totally dead. I
couldn't see any sign of life on the screen, even with a bright lamp on it.

Before I pronounced it dead originally I replaced the ribbon to the screen
from the MB and the board to the left of the screen. The ribbon was faulty
anyway (perhaps what caused the display to break) so that fixed my problems
with the accupoint, but it didn't help the screen any.

Thanks for your help - it was definitely worth a try!

Simon

It might also be the backlight board that goes if the backlight in general
seems to have gone bye-bye.
My problem is that the screen is fully lit, but it's all white pixels and
no image, at all.
If one's backlight goes, it'll be the opposite, a black / dark screen.
You'll still be able to see an image if you shine a bright light right over
your shoulder on teh screen.
If that's the case, good news, the bulb and or the backlight board is what
died, Those are cheap (compared to a whole screen) and the board is super
easy to replace. If I can get a busted libretto, I'll be able to spare
parts sell to ya cheap to fix yours up, buT i have to find one withagood
screen first. :(
