The ff1100v has English labels on the keys so no fix is really needed. A key or two in an odd space, but no real problem. There was at least one ROM update for the 1100v you may want to find that if you can.

Sounds encouraging Tom. How do you deal with the
Japanese keyboard? Is it an easy fix to just stick
English labels to the keys? Any other language
issues?

I have an ff1100v running English W98SE and W2K.
Everything works under W98, and everything but the
camera shutter hardware button and remote control
under W2K. I managed to get the camera to work
under W2K using Video Capturix, but the hardware
shutter button won't work with W2K under any
circumstances unless I write a driver.

Getting the smart media card reader to work under
W2K was quite a feat. Had to install scsi drivers
for it, but after about 3 or 4 tries I got it to
work.

Of course, the camera resolution actually sucks, so
I never use it any way. And all my digital cameras
use compact flash, so I never get to use the built
in smart media reader.
