I'm always leaning towards smaller and faster machines, and today, it's just hard to go back to a slow machine after having a fast desktop. Wish toshiba kept up with the rest of the crowd, but I may just look at other laptops - Panasonic Let's Note W2 (2.5lbs); Fujitsu LOOX Txx series (3lbs); Sony U50/70 (1lbs); JVX Interlink XP (2lbs), Sharp SL-C860 (12oz?). I'm packing very light right now, and down under 23lbs for my entire two bags and gear. The variety of stuff like Libretto, Camcorder, Digicam, etc. are all weighing me down and making me look into all-in-one devices like the Sony P150 (7.2MP + 640x480 30fps vidoe), the Sanyo Xacti (4MP, 640x480 MPEG-4 video), etc. One thing I've noticed is that the AC adapters themselves weigh a ton for all this gear! Anyways, we'll see. I'm still trying to decide what to toss out -- Libretto, PDA, camcorder, digicam, SLR, etc. -- and what to keep. I tend to travel light since it makes going around that much easier, and gives me that much more room to pack goodies for friends back home. Ahhhh, to have a 1lbs Libretto with 100GB HD, wide-screen, wifi + ethernet + modem, PCMCIA & USB & FW ports & built-in CD drive! ...someday soon! (they only have to tack on the CD & PCMCIA onto that Sony U50/70 series and add a KB....)... =) the 'joys' of electronics -- fly to Japan, then baby all of those AC adapters all night long to recharge all of that gear =( Makes me wanna go running right back to film cameras where the battery lasts for a whole year! ===== adorable toshiba libretto The latest news and information for the Toshiba Libretto owner. http://www.silverace.com/libretto/ _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
