On the one I had, it came with an English OS. There was two sites on the web, (both now gone for a few years, one was the computer dealer that sold imported Librettos in England) that had detailed instructions on how to install an English OS. Never tried it myself but their was a Win2k ROM upgrade for the ff1100v that rumor had it allow win2k to install drivers for everything but the camera, and the remote control as I recall. I do not believe the remote ever got fully fix. The Image for the remote was broken, you could use the remote to a degree. Also the units I know of all would overheat and shut down. If you wanted to use it for any length of time, you'll need to place it on one of the trays that they use to sell to defrost frozen meat fast with. For win 98 you could install the drivers for the Smartcard reader from http://www.ratocsystems.com/english/products/subpages/sma01.html the driver for the SMA01U would work as I recall. The driver for a normal Toshiba built in modem would work for the modem, and I believe it used a normal video driver.

The ff1100v has English labels on the keys so no fix
is really needed.

Great David.

A key
or two in an odd space, but no real problem. There
was at least one ROM update for the 1100v you may
want to find that if you can.

Do you remember where you found the software to deal with the Japanese language drivers?

Matt
