Subject: RE: [LIB] Mailing List Status
Hey Dan,
You're 2 list posts just showed up. Glad to see you've managed to work a
few kinks out of the server software and get it going again.
I'm wondering if David has been in touch with you. I got email from him
last Friday expressing an interest in the possibility of setting up the list
server as part of his ISP account. Maybe you guys could get together and
work out a solution with newer server software that may be less prone to
problems with SPAM.
Thanks many times over for keeping this very valuable resource online!

Hello,
The Libretto list has been having some problems recently as many have
figured out. For some reason the authentication SMTP password got changed
and mail was not getting out to anyone. I have fixed this problem but the
spam problem still remains. I am working on a way to get the list
unclogged more automatically but so far I have not had too much luck.
I am currently running SVList to handle this mailing list. At the moment
the software is no longer being developed or supported. I think the spam
issue has gotten to this list software. I am looking for other solutions
to his problems. At the moment there are still 267 list members and 265
digest members so there still seems to be some interest for this.
I know myself that I have found the list and the archives several users
keep to be very useful. I know I have been looking back in the last few
weeks to see what goodies I may be able to pick up in Japan when I am
there next week.
If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I am open to just about
anything. The mail server that my company is using now has list software
build in but I have not had the time to look into how to use it fully
yet.. But that is certainly an option.
Hope all is well..
Dan
