What some people don't seem to realize is that gettext is not
just library, but a complete toolset for managing translations.
The license split just reflects that.
Maybe it's overkill for the ~dozen error messages in libusbx,
but take a peek into /usr/share/locale and you'll be hoping
translators will be lazy ;-/  Some languages use characters
which probably cannot be displayed by the font you use in
your text editor.  Sounds like fun to maintain?
