No, it's because of a typo I made in the cron job on the server (liliypond 
instead of lilypond), so the snippets .texi file was not removed and since it 
was not modified since the last build, the make command saw no reason to 
rebuild it...

Yes, that's to be expected. On the server, I don't do a complete rebuild every 
night, but rather remove the .texi files generated by lilypond-book and run 
make web. This way, the snippet images and all the examples in the 
documentation are only rebuild if they have changed.

Unfortunately, my cron script did not delete the corresponding .texi files, so 
make also didn't rebuild those files. That should be fixed now.
