Why don't you all go bicker in private somewhere?

You give GRALTA too little credit. GRALTA does not stop at criticizing Bibi. It has consistently promoted content that advocates for the eradication of the state of Israel and of the Jews within it. Steven Low has publicly made a moral defense of the genocidal attack on October 7th.

Is there a line for you? Are there any actions GRALTA (or another org) can take or statements that GRALTA (or another org) can make that would persuade you that it is problematic?

No Jonathan, I am not suggesting that the murder of ANYONE constitutes a legitimate criticism of Israel.

I AM suggesting that the wholesale slaughter of innocent people — whether Jewish or Palestinian — is wrong. Always.

My point is that if one criticizes Netanyahu’s brutal, inhumane war against the Palestinians people, that does not mean that one is antisemitic. Plenty of Israelis do not support the policies of Netanyahoo. That does not make them antisemitic.
My point is that the conflation between legitimate criticism and perception of prejudice.
All based on a logical fallacy, a hasty generalization.
For example:

Netanyahu is the leader of Israel. Netanyahu is Jewish.
If you oppose Netanyahu’s leadership, then you’re antisemitic.

Donald Trump is an inveterate liar. Donald Trump is president of the United States.
If you don’t agree with Trump’s lies, then you are a threat to national security.

Kathy,

Thank you for your email. Are you suggesting that the murder of Jews on American soil constitutes legitimate criticism of Israel?

Also, nobody is attacking universities for criticizing Israel. A small number of universities are being penalized for failing to self-regulate attacks on Jewish students, faculty, and staff. Universities that have successfully given their Jewish students equal protection under the law have not been penalized. If you'd like to learn more, I encourage you to read Harvard's own investigation of antisemitism on campus to understand the context for what is happening there.

Re your final comment: Thank you for making my point. Perhaps it would have been more accurate for me to say that GRALTA promotes monsterization of Jews instead of demonization.

The consequence of confusing legitimate criticism of Israel  with being antisemitic is doing untold damage. Trump  now uses the conflation to attack universities and individuals who dare to criticize Israel.

To say that Israel has brutally massacred Palestinians, including children, journalists, aid workers & refused aid to the innocent is not antisemitic. It’s a charge supported by the evidence of tens of thousands of innocent lost lives.

How do we raise awareness and seek peace if monsters are allowed to hide behind their religion/ethnicity?
