No Jonathan, I am not suggesting that the murder of ANYONE constitutes a legitimate criticism of Israel.
I AM suggesting that the wholesale slaughter of innocent people — whether Jewish or Palestinian — is wrong. Always. My point is that if one criticizes Netanyahu’s brutal, inhumane war against the Palestinians people, that does not mean that one is antisemitic. Plenty of Israelis do not support the policies of Netanyahoo. That does not make them antisemitic. My point is that the conflation between legitimate criticism and perception of prejudice. All based on a logical fallacy, a hasty generalization. For example: Netanyahu is the leader of Israel. Netanyahu is Jewish. If you oppose Netanyahu’s leadership, then you’re antisemitic. Donald Trump is an inveterate liar. Donald Trump is president of the United States. If you don’t agree with Trump’s lies, then you are a threat to national security.
