Hello All I found out that the error was being caused by the corrupted (?) opening movie(dir).
At the end of the day I am more knowledgeable. I was able to solve the problem of heavy projectors by more methods than one. I found fast track projectors better than fast splash. I was also not using the stubs in their full potential. Coming down to a 55.4 kb projector from a 3 MB one was an exhilirating experience. The Autorun duration has come down to 1 second from 5 seconds earlier on my machine. Thanks to you Sean. Your inputs helped me a lot. But it seems excluding msvcrt.dll does not effect the smooth functioning. (The QA is yet to check the project). Any ideas why is this dll important.
