Similar issue in Flash. Paste from Word and it pastes in letter groupings as objects. I blame Word, being the over-engineered piece of crap that it is. I usually paste the text from Word into a new email message (or any PLAIN text editor you have handy) then re-copy it from there and paste it where it needs to be.I never noticed this in the beta: open a doc in word. Copy text. Go to cast. Paste.You've got a bitmap, not text.
Now that I think about it you should be able to copy from Word, create and open a text field in Director (so Directors little text editor window is open) and paste it in there.
