If this is all the options, is there any way to increase the responsiveness of the 3D route?
You can test the state of the 3D member and only go to the frame on which it is displayed when it is fully loaded. It should then display immediately.
From the 8.5 docs:
This statement shows that the cast member named PartyScene has finished loading and preparing for playback, and no errors occurred during the load.
