Hi Kerry... Here's my technique:
I author on either win2k or xp with japanese locale installed. I have with me 3 windows fonts off which i have so far only 1 (u're right - they are not unicode). To view the CD/DVD the target system also needs to be configured with the japanese locale... so far i've not had any problems with this approach...please let me know if you need more info on anything specific.. Interesting, Anand. I've tried embedding Japanese fonts, with no luck, at least on English Windows/Director. Could you share with us your technique? What font do you use? Is it a Shift-JIS font? It's not Unicode, I presume. I'm really interested. I can display Japanese and Chinese in programs like Outlook and Word, but not Director. In fact, I have the Chinese and Japanese IME (it's a free download from Microsoft), and I can use it in Outlook, but not in Director. It would be great if you could share your secrets with us. I love to be proven wrong--it means I've learned something.
