I certainly do.

But please realize that also means that I probably have awareness of
many more issues in the product than most people.

This includes all the ones that got addressed before they ever
reached a released product. For instance, the PI showed us several
bugs that had been there always that had gone unnoticed because we
didn't have such a nice viewing tool ... We had to fix all of those,
because the PI put it right in your face.

So my real question is ...
How good is d8 relative to d702?
The change to the new engine that occurred in d7.0 was a massive
shift, and therefore d702 (thed7.x reference release) was the
benchmark.

The names of most of these problem areas are not new and don't say much to me.

Text & Fonts, for instance, have had problems in every release since
d3 and there were often different gotchas in each release because as
the capabilities were extended, the underlying architectures got
major revisions and rewrites and new bugs popped up.

For instance, there have been text alignment & coloring issues forever.

Are the ones you are mentioning new to D8?

As I remember it, the big one (Text loading causing sound gapping)
was addressed in d8.5.

None?
Were these bugs reported through the designated channels?
Are they easily reproducible?
Do they impact everybody?

Obviously, I have my own issues too.

Flash 5 was a requirement - every time Flash get upgraded, Director
HAS to eventually support it.

I agree.
I just wanted to lay out some of the perspective that goes on 'inside'.

We really wanted Director 8 to be the BEST Director ever released.
The reality is that Director is HUGE and verifying everything is near
to impossible.

I hope this helps folks understand a bit.
