Yes, it is possible to install Linux from the CD/DVD drive in the HMC. To
do so, you use the "Single Object Operations" task on the HMC targetting
the system (CPC) that you want to install on. When that window comes up,
use the "Load from CD-ROM or Server" task targetting the specific Image
(LPAR partition) to load Linux. There will probably be a README file on
the Linux CD that gives more details on what to do from this point for
your particular distribution.
