I'm hip. I haven't gotten into learning about the NRPE stuff yet, though. I'm willing to be a manual guinea pig if I can scrape up the time. That is a bit . . . challenging . . . these days, with a toddler and all.
Jon <snip> Nagios works well for this, but it's a bear to configure. The documentation is really, really awful. The combination of Nagios and NRPE agents is pretty slick though.
