I'm not (yet) aware of any specific documentation for this. The only "tip" I've seen is don't try to use YaST System Update to do it. What you'll need to do is get a good backup of your system, and then IPL the SLES10 installation kernel just as though you were going to be doing a fresh install. The installer should detect an existing Linux system and give you the option to update it.
