I've noticed similar problems. From what I understand, if the particular
client that you are using does not understand the entire command, then
you must prefix it with "quote" so that the command goes only to the
server and is not intepreted by the client at all. Similarly, at least
with the z/OS client, uses the locsite prefix if the server does not
understand the "site" command you are trying to use.
