The reason for EBCDIC codepoints 15 and 25 is to be compatible with the IBM
Selectric Typewriter.
One of them would roll the paper forward a line with out moving the type ball.
The other would put
the type ball at the beginning of the next line. Also their is another
codepoint 0A that moved the
type ball to the beginning of the current line so you could over type what had
been typed. This was
an important security measure. After the user typed a password you should do a
0A followed by a
string of E7 (X) to make the printed password unreadable.

In EBCDIC codepage 1047 there is a newline at codepoint 15 and a linefeed at
codepoint 25. This leads to some confusion in various conversion tables.
