Yes, I am aware that s390 is one of the architectures. But we do have areas where the priorities of the open source community may match those of large shops wanting to run Linux on the mainframe. I am pretty sure the SuSE distribution kernel has/had portions that were not (yet) accepted in the mainstream Linux sources (for example the instrumentation stuff for FCP chpids and the CMMA patches). And I also know Red Hat was traditionally unwilling to take that route. That's not good or bad to me per se, it is more a business decision of the vendor and shops buying a support arrangement with them. -Rob -- Rob van der Heij Velocity Software http://velocitysoftware.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
