Hi all,
The "nosmp" kernel boot option behaves *really* strange. I get a
*reproduceable* hang on various IO devices... looks like a kind of dead
lock. The hangs start without any forced activity: it's just like "ok,
start X, start Netscape... hey, why doesn't the keyboard work. Hmm. the
mouse doesn't work either." Then logging in from another system and
killing X *does* work!
Could anyone try this please? Just one reboot, start your machine with
"linux nosmp".
